Much uproar was seen in the Rajasthan Assembly on Monday. The Congress raised an objection to the power cuts in the state and the fuel surcharge that has been imposed on electricity bills. In response to the sloganeering of Congress MLAs, Minister of State for Energy Hiralal Nagar targeted previous governments and said that power cuts are happening in the state due to mismanagement by the previous Congress government.
Basically, in zero hour, Amit Chauhan drew his attention to the power cuts and fuel surcharge put on electricity bills. At the same time, Congress MLAs also raised the issue of the fuel surcharge put on electricity bills in the assembly and enunciated slogans besides also demanding to withdraw it by the government. The Opposition leader, Tikaram Julie, asked the Assembly Speaker, Vasudev Devnani, for directions to the government in this regard.
At the same time, Minister of State for Energy Independent Charge Hiralal Nagar said that due to the mismanagement of the previous Congress government, the people of the state are facing power cuts. He further said that the state government is constantly making efforts for the uninterrupted supply of electricity through other measures including an increase in production in the state.
He said that due to severe heat and heat waves in Rajasthan this year, there has been an increase of 25 to 28 percent in the demand for electricity as compared to last year. He said that many steps are being taken to resolve the power crisis in the state.
