Ahead of the festivals, Google has added a new feature to Gmail, the world's most popular email service. Gmail will now show the items in the new 'Purchases' tab if you buy something from the Internet.
Google said in its blog post that Gmail's new Purchases tab brings all your purchases and delivery updates in one place. This will give you a simple and organized list view of upcoming package deliveries.' This feature will be very helpful for those users who often shop online and find it difficult to keep track of different packages. Now this feature will show both upcoming and old orders, so you don't have to search emails for receipts or shipment updates.
The tech company further said that packages that are to be delivered in the next 24 hours will appear at the top of your primary inbox. Google has also added a new summary card, which will show your purchases and package updates in a streamlined interface. These new order tracking features have started rolling out from today and will be available on personal Google accounts around the world in both Gmail web and mobile apps.
Apart from the new order tracking features, Gmail is also updating its Promotions category. Now users will be able to sort their promotional emails according to 'most relevant', so that they can easily get updates from their favorite brands and senders.
Google also said that it will now also bring 'nudges', which will highlight upcoming deals and timely offers so that you don't miss them. For this, you just have to go to the Promotions tab and sort the emails by 'most relevant'. However, this feature will be available on the mobile app in the coming weeks.
