Adani Wilmar, one of the largest edible oil companies in the country, on Saturday, lodged an FIR against a B2B platform selling spurious edible oil under the company's brand 'Fortune'.
In a regular market survey conducted by the company, it was found that a B2B platform was selling spurious edible oil under its brand name 'Fortune'.
In a statement issued by the company, it was said that an FIR has been lodged by the company against the B2B platform selling spurious edible oil through its agency. This FIR has been registered at Badalpur police station in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
The company further said that on behalf of the legal agencies, it raided the warehouse of this B2B platform, where a large quantity of counterfeit goods carrying the level of the company's 'Fortune' brand were seized.
A company spokesperson said that we are very concerned about the receipt of counterfeit goods. This puts the health of the customers at risk. We are cooperating with government agencies to identify its source, so that action can be taken against the culprits.
Let us tell you, 'Fortune' is the flagship brand of Adani Wilmar, under which the company also sells food products like pulses, flour, and rice along with edible oil.
The news agency PTI reported that 126 bottles of one liter of Fortune Kachi Ghani mustard oil were seized. Apart from this, 37 packs of one liter of Fortune Refined Soyabean Oil and 16 bottles of Fortune Mustard Oil have been found.
