On the 5th of the month, by-elections were held on 7 assembly seats in 6 states, in which a direct electoral contest is being seen between India Alliance and NDA. The results of the by-elections are coming out today i.e. on 8th September.
A close contest is being seen between TMC and BJP in Dhupguri Assembly by-election of West Bengal (Dhupguri By Election Result). Now the main contest remains between Trinamool Congress and BJP. Sometimes the BJP candidate and sometimes the Trinamool candidate is getting the lead.
After the seventh round, Trinamool Congress's Nirmal Chandra Roy is ahead of BJP candidate Taapsee Roy by 2931 votes. Whereas Left Front and Congress alliance candidate Ishwar Chandra Rai has lost the contest.
BJP's Tapasi Roy, Trinamool Congress's Nirmal Chandra Choudhary, and CPI(M)'s Ishwar Chandra Roy are in the fray from the Dhupguri assembly.
The seven seats where by-elections were held include Dhupguri in West Bengal, Dhanpur and Boxnagar in Tripura, Puthupalli in Kerala, Ghosi in UP, Bageshwar seat in Uttarakhand and Dumri seat in Jharkhand. At the same time, there is a tough contest between NDA and India Alliance in the Ghosi Assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh. More than 50 percent voting took place in the Ghosi assembly seat. Here Dara Singh Chauhan of BJP is contesting against Sudhakar Singh of SP.
