Afghanistan cricket team batsman Azmatullah Omarzai has warned the rest of the teams with his stormy batting in the very first match of the Asia Cup-2025. In the match being played against Hong Kong at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Azmat played a record innings and did what no batsman of his team had been able to do so far.

Afghanistan came out of a bad start in this match and scored 188 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. For him, Sadiqullah Atal played a brilliant innings of 73, but it faded somewhere in front of Azmatullah's innings because Azmat scored runs at a stormy pace more than him.

Sadiq scored an unbeaten 73 runs with the help of six fours and three sixes in 52 balls. At the same time, Azmat scored 53 runs with the help of two fours and five sixes in 21 balls. Azmat scored a half-century in just 19 balls, which is the fastest half-century in T20 International for Afghanistan so far. Before him, this record was in the name of Mohammad Nabi. Nabi had completed his half-century against Ireland in 21 balls.

Nabi scored 33 runs in this match with the help of three fours and a six in 26 balls. Sadiq, Nabi, and Azmat are the only ones who touched the double-digit mark for Afghanistan.

The rest of the Afghanistan batsmen disappointed in this match. Rahmanullah Gurbaz could score only eight runs. Ibrahim Zadran could score only one run. Gulbijan Naib scored only five runs. Karim Janat scored two runs. Rashid Khan remained unbeaten after scoring three runs.
