Today is the fourth anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack. Meanwhile, ADGP of Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said that out of 19 terrorists involved in the terror attack, 8 have been killed. 7 were arrested. The remaining four are still absconding, including three Pakistanis. The ADGP gave this information while talking to the media after paying tribute to the soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack.
At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. He wrote – We will not forget the sacrifice of the soldiers.
The ADGP said that the security forces have also killed almost all the top commanders of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the search is on for the rest. At present, Jaish has only 7-8 local and 5-6 active Pakistani terrorists, which Musa Sulemani is most wanted.
He said that the police are not only busting terrorist modules but are also cracking down on narco-terrorism and terror funding. We have been successful in recovering Rs 41 lakhs related to these cases and recently Rs 26 lakhs have been recovered in Baramulla.
The ADGP also said that cases registered against OGWs (Over Ground Workers) involved in such activities are being dealt with expeditiously. The number of such cases has come down from 1,600 in October last year to 950 now. So far 13 people have been punished. Also told that now a total of 37 local terrorists are active. Two of those terrorists Farooq Nalli and Riyaz Chhatri are old. The rest have joined recently.
On 14 February 2019, there was a fidayeen attack on a CRPF convoy in the Awantipora area of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. 44 soldiers were martyred in this attack near Goripura village. A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying CRPF personnel. The responsibility for the attack was taken by the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. The Pulwama attack was the biggest terror attack in Kashmir in 30 years. The attack was carried out by Adil Dar, a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist. Investigation revealed that the terrorists had used 350 kg IED for the attack.
